Whichever ones look cute?

Hmm, you could just go with one who knows hypnosis/spore/sleep powder and false swipe for a catching team, if searching for shiny Pokémon. I like Parasect for that. He's one I always kept in pocket in Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

But the Game Cube games were harder than the hand held ones. In the hand held games you can get away with any team... you could use unown and magikarp, for instance, and still win.

If you don't want to worry about strategy, pick any Pokémon with a high attack, and give them moves that hit alot of types for super effective.

Stone Edge doesn't really have good accuracy. I guess it's good for the annoying Flying or Fire-type, but why would you have Lucario out against them anyways? I think Crunch would be better for a bit more type coverage since you're really weak to Ghost with that set.

Oh, I see where you're coming from. I always preferred Rock Slide, but it's a simple power/accuracy debate.

Yes. There's a reason why there's a warning whenever a topic becomes more than a few days old. You're really only suppoosed to necromance if you're adding to it... and telling someone to pick one of 493 Pokemon by just linking to them really doesn't accomplish that.

YOu know someone coudl've still given him a proper answer.

He needs Pokémon with strong fire or flying moves to take down Aaron. And someone needs to learn Earthquake to get rid of that Drapion at the end.

Bertha is easily dispatched with a single strong Grass Pokémon, Turtwig starters thrash her.

Flint can cause problems since he doesn't really stay true to his fire type. Whatever Pokémon he's been using to surf with should be able to get ride of his fire Pokémon and the Steelix. A Pokémon with Earthquake can do the same. Lopunny and Drifblim require some more thought. Fighting moves will take down Lopunny while Dark and Ghost are the obvious choices to get rid of Driftblim, Electricity works too.

A super fast Pokemon with dark moves or ghost moves makes swift work of Lucian, watch out for Bronzong though, lvl 63 is serious business and it's only real weakness is fire.

And then the champion, uh Good luck son! Just fight to your best with your best. Laugh at the Gastrodon (kill it with grass) but otherwise you might even need to employ tactics!

So let's give this person some recommendations.
1. Your starter, especially if it's that Grass/Ground one as he's unstoppable plus has allimportant ground and grass moves. IN fact the Elite 4 is collectively weaker to grass than probably any other group of trainers you've battled. Infernape is fine because he's strong and awesome. Empoleon is fantastic too for surfing, but Torterra is best.
2. Palkia/Dialgia Even at level 70 and with stupidly powerful stats they can be beaten by the onslaught of the elite four. And with so little PP on their moves, it's best to save them for last. One on one they should be able to take down every single one of the elite four's pokemon but it cannot do it all alone.
3. Whatever Pokémon you use to surf. Chances are they're your number one water Pokémon. Save them for Flint mostly but Surf is a great move that hits a lot of Pokémon hard anyway. (Dont worry about this one if you have Empoleon)
4. A fast dark or ghost Pokémon. And there are two standouts here really. A Weaville with Night Slash or Gengar with Shadow Ball. Other moves to back these up help but I strongly recommend either of these two (both would be a waste) However you could probably get by with jsut teching Night Slash to anyone who can learn it. It's an attack that you'll be using a lot.
5. Staraptor. Chances are you caught one right at the start of the game and kept them because it's always strong and kept it to use Fly later on. Make sure it knows a strong flying attack (Fly with suffice) and CLOSE COMBAT. Close combat is stupidly strong and can be used to take down pretty much any Pokémon that is causing you problems. Just make sure you have enough PP left to take down Flint's Lopunny with it. And it's a nice move to hold onto when you face the Champion.
6. Someone who has Earthquake. Ground type is cool and all but the lack of Electricity in the elite four means any old Earthquaker will be fine. Earthquake is still the best all round attack in the game and there's no excse to not have at least one Pokémon with it. If you have Torterra, ta-da, your covered already.

But really, just use your strongest and best.

Pokémon I wouldn't really bother with include:
The legendary trio. there just arn't enough Pokémon weak to Psychic in the Elite four to warrant it. Azelf would absolutely monster The first two guys if it was never attacked but chances are it will be.
Electric/Ice Pokémon. Traditionally these two are a catchall that can hit anybody hard (you'll hear the term boltbeamer thrown around by competitive players) but there really isn't any room for them against the elite four. There's only one dragon you have to deal with and the two water Pokémon are both part ground, suiting grass so much more.
POkémon under say, lvl 45. Dont even bother.

And finally take lots and lots of hyper potions, revives AND the real underated item that comes in the most useful for the elite four are Ether and Elixir. They are hard to find but they can be so worthwhile to save for the Elite 4.

Generally if your levels are high enough you can own them easy. I would pack the following:

Your choice x Lemonades (Lemonades are the cheapest ingame per HitPoint restored, and perfectly fill the HP that revives don't)
OR
Use Softboiled from Blissey (Can be used a lot, can restore the PP with ethers).

At least 10x Revives
Some Ether and Elixer, or Berries that restore PP. This is invaluable.

As for the team, you might need a competitive team.
=====
GET BLISSEY!

You know in Hearthome city, there is a hiker that gives you a Happiny egg? Don't find it useless. Get it to at least level 15, then level it up with the oval egg.
Fly to Veilstone, and start pumping this Chansey with about 10 Irons and 10 HP up. This should throw its happiness right up. So now, walk around really fast for a while, battle a lot with it. Also, give the chansey massages in the veilstone massage house place. Then level it up. It should evolve into Blissey - with the highest HP in the game. Those irons raised its pathetic defense. Start EV training it in defense, though.

Now, when someone on your team gets killed, or your team is especially hurt and damaged, switch to blissey. Heal the team while blissey takes a battering.

Perfect?
=======

You see throwing out a weak Pokemon doesn't work.
Anyway, here are all the types that the elite four uses:

Bug, Grass, Poison, Fire, Fighting, Normal, Steel, Ghost, Water, Ground, Rock, Psychic, Dark, Water.

Notice something? It's nearly every type in the game. Pack Pokemon with moves that can counter each type.
Infernape can use Grass Knot which is amazing on the Water/Ground types.

Other then that use the strongest Pokemon possible. If your pokemon are useful and are over level 60, you will win. Just pack the necessary items and a Blissey.

Palkia will own as its type allows it to learn Fire AND Water Moves. Spacial Rend is weaker then Roar of Time, but does not need a paused turn. Pack Earthquake if you have the TM or Earth Power for those weak-to-ground ones.

Throwing out weak Pokemon can actually be a life saver. When I first went through the Elite Four, I made a mistake and accidentally left one of my Pokemon in the box, instead bringing a level 16 Bibarel. I'm pretty sure it actually got a KO once, and it worked wonders for stalling when I had to quickly revive a Pokemon.

However, his question wasn't really posed just for the Elite Four.

Well, that depends. How big is your pocket?

>_>
<_<

*ahem*

So... something constructive...
Hm...

!

Since you're talking about the Elite Four, bring plenty of Leppa Berries. Very helpful for re-gaining PP, and there's no limit to them either.
Your version's legendary Pokemon should be a big help as well.

And if worst comes to worst, and you're always down to one last Pokemon at the Champion, try Toxic and spamming healing items. :P I actually needed to do that. ^^;;

Offensively it is a good team, but three normal Pokémon leaves you with a massive weakness to Fighting.
