This is a pain while checking for compatible moves...

So I'm looking up moves that can be tutored to Pokemon in FR/LG. Let's take, for example, Thunder Wave. Thunder Wave can be taught to Pokemon that are considered "too many to list!", so I click that.

It brings me up a list of the first 50 Pokemon - everything's cool, until I click page 2, where it just brings me to the second page in an alphabetical list of ALL Pokemon, regardless of whether they can learn the move or not. This has happened on every move where I've had to click to see all the Pokemon capable of learning it.

Just figured I'd throw it out there - if this post made no sense please feel free to let me know.

"I know a lot of kids in my street who, when we wirelessly battle, always have a loppuny. When I ask em why, they always say they think she's hot and some say their dad agrees with them."

I'd expect that "Too many to list!" means that there are... too many to list? xDD

If that's not what you meant, then your post made no sense. xD

Heh, okay, yeah, lemme try and rephrase it...

When you're looking up a move in the 'dex, if there are lots of Pokemon that learn it (I think it's like 50+ or something) then it'll give you a link which'll send you to a list of Pokemon, 50 to each page. The first page works fine, but if there are more than 50 Pokemon in the list, when you click onto page two it'll just revert into a list of all Pokemon in the National Dex.

So basically, it's impossible to tell what Pokemon beyond number 50 can learn that move by tutoring.

Seismic Toss:
http://veekun.com/dex/moves/seismic%20toss
By tutor:
Too many to list!
Crystal: 0
Emerald: 127
FireRed/LeafGreen: 127
Diamond/Pearl: 0

So we click for FR/LG, which is what I'm interested in, and get this:
http://veekun.com/dex/pokemon/search?move=Seismic+Toss&move_method=tutor&move_version=frlg
No problems yet. 127 Pokémon found. I wanna know what other Pokemon can learn this beyond Jigglypuff, though, so I click on page 2:

http://veekun.com/dex/pokemon/search?move=Seismic%252BToss;move_version=frlg;skip=50;move_method=tutor
Here's where our problem appears - 493 Pokémon found.

Tried with Thunder Wave and got the same effect. Tried it with Taunt and did not. Seems to just be certain moves.
Pokemon Pearl FC: 5112 2550 3875
Pokemon Battle Revolution FC: 1289 5653 0180

I know it's probably not that big of a deal since it doesn't really affect DP, but it's still a pain and I wanted to point it out. I wonder why it's only certain moves.

Ah! I see! *dohy* xD

It's probably just one of the many glitches around here.

It's due to some weird thing in the code that hates plus signs. It causes the URL to use the code (don't know what you call it) instead of the regular plus.

Example:
One pg. 2 of T-wave, I get this URL:
http://veekun.com/dex/pokemon/search?move=Thunder+Wave;skip=50;move_method=machine
This gives me the results I want.

On pg. 3, it does what you described. I get this URL:
http://veekun.com/dex/pokemon/search?move=Thunder%252BWave;skip=100;move_method=machine

Simple way to fix this is to replace the %252B with a + sign.

Complicated way to fix this is file a bug report, which I haven't bothered to do because I'm lazy.

So yeah. Problem mostly solved.

FILE BUG REPORTS

I know I don't seem to be fixing stuff very fast -- trust me I am actually doing things, just spread a little thin -- but I can't fix it at all if nobody puts it on my list of things that need fixing :V

My bad, I should have realised that the forum titled "Bugs" wasn't for reporting bugs. I'll keep that in mind next time.

It was originally, but then I got an actual bug tracker and didn't want to nuke a forum. Will update the description, though.
