What would you train if you were a Gym Leader?

Well, yes. I've always wondered what my 'specialist type' and team would be.

Just post the type you'd want to train. If you want to put in your team too, remember no more than four members (like in the games), but you can maybe have one not of your chosen type.

Here's mine!

PSYCHIC TEAM
Metagross @ Choice Band (Ice Beam, Zen Headbutt, Bullet Punch and Agility)
Alakazam @ TwistedSpoon (Psychic, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam)
Slowking @ Leftovers (Psychic, Nasty Plot, Power Gem, Surf)
Clefable @ Toxic Orb (Psychic, SolarBeam, Flamethrower, Shadow Ball)

I'd use a Dark team. As far as I know there aren't any Dark-type gym leaders. Only Elite 4 members. If I'm wrong, correct me.

Tyranitar - Crunch, Stone Edge, EQ, Dragon Dance
Houndoom - Dark Pulse, Sunny Day, Solarbeam, Fire Blast
Weavile - Ice Punch, Counter, Night Slash, Aerial Ace
Gengar - Shadow Ball, Psychic, Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt

Generally Gym leaders only have one pokemon with an item, holding a sitrus berry. For me, Tyranitar has sitrus berry, and weavile has focus sash.

^ Clefable doesn't take Poison damage if she has Magic Guard.

I'd make a Ghost/Electric team, due to them being my favorite types. Another thing my Gym would be known for is its hold items.

Raichu lvl 34 @Oran Berry; Agility, Slam, Hidden Power(Grass), Thunderbolt
Misdreavus lvl 36 @Salac Berry; Psywave, Spite, Hidden Power(Dark), Pain Split
Rotom lvl 38 @Choice Scarf; Substitute, Trick, Shock Wave, Ominous Wind

My Craydily has a Power Herb item. it allows you to attack first turn with things like Razor Wind and Solarbeam, rather than waiting a turn, then attacking.

I would have an all-around team, but only Pokemon that don't evolve. I would have to have a stronger team, too. It's really weak. I haven't played my game for like a week anyways.

If I had to choose, I would probably pick to train Fire-types~

Charizard
Flareon
Houndoom
And Eevee as my oddball

Philly, plenty of pokemon that don't evolve are strong, like Pinsir and Heracross.

I would be a Ground Gym Leader, Despara, more specifically Desert, and all battles would be RSE style Double battles

Flygon @ Choice Band (Ice Beam, EQ, Giga Drain and Sandstorm)
Flygon @ Soft Sand (EQ, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt and Ice Beam)
Cacturn @ Leftovers (Substitute, Focus Punch, Power Gem and Sandstorm)
Garchomp @ Scope Lens (Toxic, Earthquake, Surf and Dragon Rush)

Normal.

Clefable @ Life Orb
Magic Guard
~Calm Mind
~Thunderbolt
~Ice Beam
~Softboiled

Wigglytuff @ Muscle Band
~Body Slam
~Brick Break
~Thunder Punch
~Ice Punch

Spinda @ Sitrus Berry
~Teeter Dance
~Psycho Cut
~Hypnosis
~Dizzy Punch

Kecleon @ Choice Band
~Trick
~Shadow Claw
~Skill Swap
~Sucker Punch

Find a way around my tricks and you can win easily. Otherwise, you're screwed.

The only pokemon I know that can resist 3/4ths of your moves is Magnemite's family, but Wigglytuff'll murder it.

actually, Metagross and Bronzong could make it pretty far, and would never take any supereffective hits up until Kecleon. At that point, you'd have to work really fast to get him to a ghost type, then keep him there after he uses Skill Swap. Then, with more ghost-type moves, you could beat him, but it'd be really tricky. Against Spinda, anything with own tempo, a chesto berry, and a fighting type move would easily beat him (ex: Lickilicky w/ Focus Blast and Rock Smash). Wigglytuff would be the deciding point though. to take him, you'd need Gallade or Medicham to lower the effectiveness of the brickbreak, but Lucario would resist Ice Punch and Body Slam. the Brick Break would destroy Lucario, however, and that would end that. Rotom, however, is resistant to all but the Ice Punch and can have a variety of other moves, depending on form. The likeliness of haveing these by the time you go up against these however....

Automerged:
Say,I have an idea. If we ever get onto the Wi-Fi at the same time, the people on this thread could pull together these teams and do a "Gym Marathon" of 8 badges, getting a Plate or other item as a 'badge' to represent their win :D
does this sound good?

Wait... you mean, like, online Gym Battles? And if you beat someone, you get a special badge, available only on this site?

Well, that would work, but I meant that If you go on the Wi-Fi stuff, You can challenge 'Gym Leaders' and their followers, or join a 'Gym' and when your on, you try to prevent the challengers from getting to the Leader or trying to beat the leader. Each Leader has a Stone equipped to a Pokemon they caught or hatched in game (like a Water 'Gym Leader' having a Mudkip with a Water stone) that is traded to Winners. Lets say You beat my Fire/Grass 'Gym'. You would receive a Cyndaquil with a Leaf Stone. Or, a Treecko with a Fire Stone. It doesn't have to be a starter, but I'm assuming everyone knows those the best, and so they are good examples.

I'm completely confused... however, in order for ANYONE to see you on WIFI, they have to be on at the same time, which is very rare without previous time plans, and they have to know your FC, which many people don't give out freely. On top of that, I don't even know if this can be set up. Besides, how would anyone be able to tell which gym you're a part of?

Sorry if I'm ruining your idea - I'm just a little stressed at the moment.

Hmm... I see your point. Maybe challenges made here on veekun, and carried out in the Wi-Fi?
