National Dex or Not? - Forums

I want a Mawile, I am on Iron Island, I have Ruby but I cannot find anywhere a definate Yes/No do I need the National Dex before they will show up?

OR can I get it without the dex? I don't want to waste hours in Iron Island if I cannot get it yet.

I don't think you can trade a Mawile before a National Dex. The game isn't very difficult to beat anyway.

It's very possible, because I gave my friend a Manectric before he beat the game to help with the E4.
